Engagement

The UK Appalachian Center, by engaging with academic and community leaders, combines the resources of the University into initiatives that will improve the quality of life in Appalachian Kentucky and the region as a whole. 

• UK Growing Local Economies Initiative - new ways of approaching economic development in the Appalachian region
• Appalachian IDEAS Network - an innovative social entrepreneurship competition for college students
• Graduate Student Research Support Group - graduate students doing work on or in Appalachia meet regularly to discuss their research and get advice from faculty associates and from each other.
